He left the US military in late 2005 and joined the private military contrac- tor Blackwater. His first assignment was in support of the Department of Homeland Security following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. After the completion of that contract, he returned to Iraq with Blackwater on a mission to support the election processes underway there. He was assinged to provide High Threat Protection services to clientele from various government agencies as they traveled around Northern Iraq. Next he contracted to assist the National Security Agency in and around the Baghdad.
